Overview: 1st grade students were asked what colors does four seasons:

fall, spring, summer and fall reminded of? Cool or warm colors? Students filled the outline of an octopus, fish, or seahorse by manipulating tissue paper for example tearing, twisting, and overlapping using warm or cool colors. For the  background, a tempura wash was applied. Then the students looked at coral reef pictures as inspiration to create an living environment for their sea animal using oil pastels.
