MOLDED CERAMIC PLATES
9TH-12TH GRADE
Overview: Students learned how to use the slab roller machine to create slabs. Afterward, a wood mold was used as a template to trace around the shape of the wood mold. To give the plate a concave form, the wood mold was used again and was pressed onto a seat cushion.
When the molded plates were leatherhard stage, students used underglazes to glaze. Next, sgraffito decorative technique was used to design the plate.

COIL MUGS
9TH-12TH GRADE
Overview: Students learned how to use the extruder machine to make coils. Afterward, students learned to create coil circles to stack on top of each other. The scratch-and-attach technique was used to attach the coils together.
Students had the option to have the outside of the mug with exposed coils or a smooth surface.

Overview: Students created a slab using the slab roller machine. Afterward, students used a paper template to cut out shapes (4 walls, 1 lid, and a base).
In the following class, the slab cutouts were assembled using the scratch-and-attach technique.

PINCH POT PLANTER BUST

Overview: Students learned to create pinch pot methods forms to make a planter with personality. Two pinch pots were made: One to hold the plant and One for the bust (base).

Overview: What's a cool way to play tic tac toe other than pen and paper? Well, students created their own version by making 2 sets of 5 movable ceramic sculpture pieces. A ceramic board was created with sections of 3 by 3.

Overview: Students used plaster molds and GR molds to create concave form. Afterwards, add a foot and a section for the dip.

WHEEL THROWING
9TH-12TH GRADE
Overview: Students learned the process of creating wheel-thrown vessels or bowels.
General Steps:
Step 1: Form a ball of clay
Step 2: Slightly wet the wheel and smack the ball of call in the center of the wheel
Step 3: Wet your hands, turn the wheel on
Step 5: Center the clay
Step 6: Create an opening with your thumb
Step 7: Gradually pull the walls to create height, width, or both
Step 8: Trim the bowel or vessel at the leather-hard stage
